* NOTE: For about 5 years now my husband, Brian, and I have chosen to
take this type of path without realizing we would become stronger and
more connected in the areas we have chosen. He is very comfortable in
allowing Spirit to channel healing energies through him. Once in a
while when Spirit impresses upon him to give a message, he will. I do
healing occasionally, I am more comfortable in allowing Spirit to speak
through me and I am developing more accurate information in Spirit
Communication and "proof of continuity of life"; while still growing
in confidence.
At Stansted Hall in England they do not include the healing within the
Religious Service. As I understand it, this is the normal practice
everywhere in this lovely country that reminds me so much of the New
England countryside. Healing is done in a separate room before or
after service or Saturdays. "Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30 - 9 p.m.
and Saturday 10-3 p.m.", was what the sign on the Healing Chapel door
read. Commissioned or "SNU" Certified Healers are the only people
permitted to work at the College. Anyone wanting or needing a healing
must fill out a card, which includes name, address and phone. There is
also a listing for physical or emotional illness and the dates one has
previously come for healing. There is also a space to request a
specific healer, if you so choose. This card is given to the healer
when he or she asks you to sit in the chair. The healer always speaks
to the client and asks if they may touch them, even though there is a
box to check on the card.
You are allowed to wait for the healer of
your choice, chairs are provided. Each healer cleanses his or her
hands in a bowl of water after they have completed their healing work
with each person. This is similar to what I have seen Lily Dale
healing workers do. I am not sure if it is still done, but this method
was followed when I was there several years ago. The healers in
England at SNU are allowed a little more freedom in touching people
than healers of the NSAC are allowed, but not much. We are taught
healers are only to touch the head, neck, shoulders, especially during
a service.
In England I noticed that they are permitted to also touch the back,
not very much more permissible but a little lower toward the hip area
if needed, NO rubbing whatsoever is allowed. They are also allowed to
hold the hands, and only if given permission by the client. You also
must remember this healing is practice outside of the religious
services.
At 9:00 p.m. the "Pub" opened and many people were able to get their
favorite beverage and relax before ending their day. For Patti and I
it was a juice and then we trudged up to bed, weary from the day's
activities. We really never had a problem getting to sleep; at times
we could not even finish a paragraph from the books we were reading.
On the Friday of the first week we stayed out later and mingled with
our new friends from all over the world. Friday ended our week, so on
Saturday we took a cab over to Bishops-Stortford to do some leisurely
shopping.
My Trip to Arthur Findlay College
Stansted, England - Summer 2006
Part 2 (Page 2) of 4
Our phone at Stansted Hall
located at the tope of the main stariway
next to the museum.
We would both call our homes daily, in July we had a 5-hour
difference. We had already started our day in England when New
England, USA was still sleeping. After Sunday we knew exactly what
time to call home and NOT get anyone out of bed. We usually called
during our afternoon break or suppertime. This worked out wonderfully;
we had International calling cards that gave us 500 hours for $50.00.
Patti used all of hers; I still had 1 hour on mine upon leaving
England. She was also kind enough to lend someone from New Jersey the
full use of her card, and simply ran out of hours; she talked a lot
more too! Neither of us expected to use as many hours as we did, but
we did. Every time we called home my husband Brian and her husband Bob
wanted a recap of the day. You try to remember every minute of the
last 24 hours! There was too much going on. Sometimes I was thankful
that someone else was waiting for the phone. Normally the $50 card
would give anyone plenty of time for calling the States on a daily
basis but we did share with others who were not aware of "international
calling cards". There were a lot of numbers to push on the old
fashioned telephone located on the second floor foyer, but after we
used it a couple of times it was a breeze. When the right buttons
were pushed we received a voice-automated update of how much time we
had left.
There was a horse farm adjacent to the Stansted Hall property. There
would be about 30 horses grazing their daily. Patti and I would walk
across the driveway to the field and feed the horses apples we gathered
at lunch.
Our 2 weeks were full of wonder and spirit messages from our new found
friends. My Dad had passed in the summer of 2005 and I hadn't received
any messages from him, except from Patti, which were accurate and
wonderful. That week he was proven to be everywhere. It was also a
dream of his that I go to Stansted. You see during World War II he had
been stationed at Stansted Field, now Stansted International
Airport. There were so many messages from him during those two weeks
that I truly felt he was sharing my joy and experience.
My next chapter will concentrate on the teaching methods and subjects
we discussed during our stay at "Arthur Findlay College for the
Advancement of Psychic Science".
