Katie Caton sent in this photo of Lily Dale Lake she had taken in the winter of 2004.  In her own words:

"The week between Christmas and New Years of 2004, I was here visiting the "Dale" by myself at my home here on Erie Street and decided to take a walk around with my camera (NOT digital) but with film. I took many snow filled pictures of many sites here and a few shots of the lake, right at the end of Marion Street.  It was certainly spontaneous when I had the pictures developed and found those 3 entities on the lake. I had taken 2 pictures that day in the same place, seconds from each other; one picture shows nothing, the second picture, the apparitions on the lake.

I showed this picture to Peter and Rev. Ginny Berg (the minister of my then congregation on Long Island) and Pete expanded the picture so the images could be seen clearer. I shared it with my church family on Long Island at the time and then a year later, shared a copy to our then president, Ron Robertson, for the Lily Dale Historical Society.

A year or two later, I had the chance of meeting a Buffalo News/API Photographer. He came to the Dale for a visit, and went over the photograph with his equipment, trying to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt, (he being a skeptic and first time visitor to the Dale) that this was not any "phenomena". After his lengthy analysis, he could not give me any logical reason in his professional opinion how this image came about onto my photograph. He checked my camera, the pictures and the negatives. He had no answer for me and quite honestly, he was dumbfounded."
Three Spirits Captured on Film at Lily Dale New York
Picture of 3 white ghosts on the pond in Lily Dale, New York
As we had mentioned before, we try to look at everything with a scientific eye as well as a spiritual one.  Our photographer has had years of experience in Spirit photography and what may look like spirit photography.

We have also had a specialist from KODAC look at the photo. As the scientific part of this organization we inform the public what the other possibilities may be and we make NO definite decision on a photo being Spirit or not.  This photo could have picked up many things.   We do notice that the day is overcast.  Not that it has a bearing upon what looks like entities on the lake, but because it is on a lake that may be frozen, it could be a type of condensation, normal in cold weather patterns in lake areas especially on overcast day.

This photo may have many logical reasons why the photo looks like "3 spirits fishing on a frozen lake".  This Department, with outside professional help, has     not been able to decipher what else it could be.
